Korean Air plane makes emergency landing in Tokyo - Japanese media

A Korean Air flight from Seoul to Los Angeles made an emergency landing at Tokyo's Narita airport after smoke filled the cockpit, according to Japanese media.

No injuries were reported.

The captain contacted Japanese airport authorities to report smoke in the cockpit when the aircraft was about 175 kilometres northeast of Narita, NHK television said.

According to preliminary information a burning smell was noticed near a refrigerator on the plane.

The passengers are to spend the night in Japan.
